PRSM focuses its efforts on leading and sustaining the progress of the retail facilities maintenance profession.  We are also dedicated to the PRSM individual member and supporting you throughout your career.  Many people look to PRSM to submit resumes, learn about available industry positions and use other tools to develop their career path.

Retail Facilities Maintenance Career

Facility maintenance is an ever-changing industry. In order to keep up with the latest trends and optimize performance, a facility manager should continually educate him or herself on industry changes, such as energy efficiency equipment, green cleaning programs, lighting improvements, etc.

Some of the Facilities Educational Programs are:

RFMP (Retail Facility Maintenance Professional) provided by PRSM. This certification recognizes competent retail facility maintenance and management professionals, promotes uniform standards of excellence, and promotes the retail facilities maintenance profession. There are some recommended study materials to review and a prerequisite of three years facility management experience. Every three years, you need to obtain 18 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) in order to maintain your certification. CEUs can be obtained by subscribing to industry magazines, becoming a member of other industry organizations, attending conferences and webinars, etc.
